Donnington Medical Partnership is proud to be a Training Practice.
We have GP Speciality Trainee and Foundation Doctors based in the practice for between 4 and 12 months. They are fully qualified doctors who have previously worked in hospital posts. They see patients independently, with support from the other doctors as required.
We also regularly teach medical students, which is a valuable part of their training. Students sit in with the doctors, or may ask to speak to patients first, before their main appointment.
You will be asked if you are happy to have students present. If you would prefer not to, please let reception or your doctor know. This will not affect your care.
Occasionally you may be asked if you are happy to have your consultation video recorded for training purposes. If so, you will be asked to sign a written consent form. The recording will not be viewed outside of the practice, and will be deleted after 12 months.
Occasionally, patients’ computerised medical records will be looked at by external assessors for Quality Assurance purposes. These assessors are Doctors or Practice Managers from other surgeries, and they are bound by the same strict standards of patient confidentiality as our own staff. If you would not wish your record to be used in this way please speak with the Practice Manager.
